Climate & Environment

Under the influence of the tropical monsoon, the Shoushan National Natural Park has a subtropical monsoon climate. The hottest month in August where the average temperature is about 29.4 degrees, and the coldest month in January with an average temperature of 17.5 degrees. The park receives year-round sunlight with clearly defined wet, dry and raining seasons. During winter, the cold air mass from Mainland China results in northeastern monsoons and dry air; summer is hot and wet with mostly southern and southwestern wind, and has well-developed Southwestern airstreams influenced by Pacific Ocean high air pressure. There are also frequent typhoons during summer and fall seasons.
